- THE
PROGRAM
- You have three
options for purchasing the home study transcription course:
Option A - Text
workbook with CD. This includes the text and digital voice
files for dictation. If you choose this option you will
need the digital software/foot pedal for your computer.
We offer this to you for your convenience if you want to
order it through our company.
Option B - Digital
download. You can download the entire program (text workbook
and voice files) from the Internet site. You also need the
digital software/foot pedal for this option as well.
Option C - Text
workbook with cassette tapes. With this option you need
to purchase a cassette sized transcriber in order to play
the tapes with a foot pedal and controls.
The most popular
option is Option A because it gives you a printed copy of
the text workbook and your voice files are easy to manipulate
from the CD. Since you have to wait for mail delivery on
the foot pedal and the workbook is over 447 pages, this
is usually the most common choice.
Also you are
more likely to use the digital equipment when you are working
as a transcriptionist than a cassette machine.
- At
the completion of the program you will be given a final exam
and upon obtaining satisfactory results, receive a certificate
of completion.

- SOFTWARE
- As
a service to our students, we offer a medical/pharmaceutical
spell check. You do not have to have this for the course,
but we highly recommend having it, as it will make the course
easier for you to go through, as well as increase your accuracy
on your final exam.

- BOOKS
Taber's Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary is the only
book required to start this course. You will need all of the
other books before you complete the course and start working.
